About The Position

The Shift Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical, instrumentation, and control systems across the manufacturing facility. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment by responding to breakdowns, executing preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The technician works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Reliability teams to deliver world-class equipment reliability while maintaining compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control diagrams
  • Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial networks
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Control systems diagnostics
  • Instrument calibration
  • Root cause problem solving
  • Collaboration with operations and maintenance teams
  • Strong safety mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLC systems
  • Experience with industrial instrumentation (pressure, flow, level, temperature)
  • Experience with HMI and SCADA systems
  • Food manufacturing or high-speed packaging experience
  • Experience working within a CMMS system (e.g., eMaint)

Responsibilities

  • Follow all site safety, electrical, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions related to electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, motors, VFDs, and control panels
  • Diagnose issues related to PLC control systems and instrumentation
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore production safely and efficiently
  • Support troubleshooting of automation and control system faults
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain process instrumentation including: Flow transmitters Pressure transmitters Level sensors Temperature instruments
  • Verify proper signal communication between field devices and control systems
  • Execute preventative and predictive maintenance tasks as assigned in CMMS
  • Document work orders accurately and completely
  • Identify equipment improvement opportunities during inspections
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
  • Support reliability improvements and equipment upgrades
  • Provide feedback to improve maintenance strategies and procedures
  • Work closely with operators to resolve equipment issues
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance and engineering teams
  • Support training and knowledge sharing across shifts
