Our Nurse Residency Program and Specialty-specific orientation programs provide our new nurses with increased clinical support and education during orientation. Job Summary 7a-7:30p; rotating weekends and holidays The Shift Charge Nurse has authority, responsibility, and accountability to provide clinical and administrative leadership on her/his shift. This position reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. This position is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Registered Nurse [RN - Massachusetts]
  • Basic Life Support [BLS] certification required
  • Three (3) years current experience in relevant clinical specialty required
  • Current experience must be within two years of hire into the Shift Charge position
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership skills and clinical competence in area of responsibility required.
  • Additional unit-specific education requirements are outlined in the Addendum for each unit.
