About The Position

The Resource Navigator will assist with the City of Loveland's shelter program, which provides accommodations for adults experiencing homelessness who may also be struggling with substance use, trauma, or physical and mental health challenges. The Navigator is responsible for ensuring a safe and caring environment while empowering guests to take steps toward housing, employment, and stability. Working closely with the Shelter Manager and other service providers, the Navigator may support shelter operations and guest access to services. The Navigator will provide one-on-one, task-oriented assistance to guests by helping them set goals, access housing and employment resources, obtain documentation, enroll in benefits, and connect with health and community services. The salary range for this position is $25.38- $35.54 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This opportunity will be open until filled. This position is temporary less than 6 month maximum working 40 hours per week with Medical coverage option only. Regular schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm until March 31, 2026 unless additional grant funding is received. Position requires in-person work. Overnight shifts may be required during inclement weather.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in social work, human services, criminal justice or related field required.
  • One (1) year of experience as a resource navigator, other homeless service provider or related position required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, proof of passed assessment required before hire.
  • Ability to pass Spanish speaking assessment conducted by the City of Loveland.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and comfort with web-based applications.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and social service systems in Northern Colorado.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to pass a background check, legally work in the U.S., and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one, task-oriented support to individuals experiencing homelessness, with a focus on housing, employment, and stability.
  • Assist participants with job-readiness tasks such as creating resumes, applying for jobs, practicing interviews, and accessing employment resources.
  • Conduct intakes and assessments, identify guest goals, and create individualized stability plans.
  • Support housing navigation, including voucher applications, housing searches, and landlord communication.
  • Assist participants in obtaining documentation (birth certificates, IDs, Social Security cards, etc.).
  • Help guests access and maintain benefits (e.g., Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, Connect for Health).
  • Provide connections to medical, dental, and mental health providers and assist with appointments and paperwork.
  • Connect participants with community resources.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes in required databases.
  • Actively research and share information on available resources with staff and guests.
  • Advocate for guests as directed to help them achieve their goals.
  • Assist with day to day shelter operations as needed.
  • Ensure a welcoming and safe environment for all shelter guests.
