Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables: Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that apply to this position. Supervise the development of shift schedules and staff assignments. Monitor zone supervisors to ensure that daily progress and activities are documented completely, accurately, and in compliance with agency policies and procedures. Assist with the orientation of new children and staff. Provide input into the development of treatment plans as appropriate. Maintain knowledge of positive child management techniques, including verbal redirection, de-escalation, and containment. Plan, organize, and supervise activities for children by following the daily activity schedule. Maintain a secure campus environment by making rounds as required and using proper application of radio communication protocols, including responding to all radio calls. Be a positive role model for the service population. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by the position supervisor. Implement Compass Connections' safety protocol, including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations. Maintain Compass Connections' professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections’ employee handbook, including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members, and complying with the required dress code at all times. Other Responsibilities: Supervise zone supervisors assigned to this position to ensure staffing levels meet each child’s physical, social, emotional, educational, and recreational needs and comply with contract and regulatory standards and requirements. Schedule appointments for children and follow up to ensure each child’s essential needs are met. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with personnel and/or other professionals, including law enforcement officials, judicial officials, legal resources, medical professionals, and other community resources. Regularly observe and evaluate buildings, grounds, equipment, staff, children, vehicles, and other program resources and address issues and problems as needed. Frequently traverse from one area of the physical plant to another. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish. Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by the program supervisor and federal partners Requirements Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks. Demonstrate the ability to: A. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics. B. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers, and professionals. C. Provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment. D. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times. E. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position. F. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
