About The Position

Montana Precision Products (MPP) is at the forefront of manufacturing excellence, specializing in producing complex and high-precision components for the aerospace and industrial sectors. At MPP, you'll be part of a team that uses state-of-the-art technology to create components that power some of the most recognizable aircraft in the world, including the Boeing 737 MAX, the Airbus A320neo, and other commercial aircraft. Job Summary: The shift specified is Fri-Sun 6:00am to 6:30pm and operates the shell room over the weekend requiring ability to operate and problem solve independently. Operating the shell room includes operating robotic shell making lines. Build, measure, and maintain ceramic slurries and stuccos per work instructions. Clean and load wax assemblies into the system and unload and prepare finished shells from the system. This position also requires providing direct technical support in the measuring, monitoring, correction, and improvement of slurry, stucco, and integrated robotic systems quality control parameters and performance.

Requirements

  • Three years progressive experience/technical training in manufacturing processing. This may include, but is not limited to, Production, Inspection, Engineering or other related technical experience or training.
  • Experience with investment casting shell process. Well versed and proficient in all processes and equipment, etc. within the cell.
  • Experience with lab equipment such that is used in slurry/stucco testing and monitoring (Canon-Fenske viscometer, stucco classifier, etc.)
  • Functional experience or completed technical training with instrumentation and control (I&C) systems
  • Ability to work safely and maintain quality standards independently and unsupervised
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Read, write, and speak English
  • US Person Status
  • Ability to accurately follow tech cards and travelers.
  • Follows instructions and records information.
  • Ability to pass vision test and maintain vision requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate robots and monitor conveyor lines and key process variables.
  • Clean and fill and tanks; make ceramic slurry and monitor viscosity levels.
  • Wash, rinse and dry wax assemblies prior to shell making
  • Prepare and load wax assemblies on hangers to introduce into robotic systems
  • Unload hangers of finished shells, breakdown and clean hangers and pins preparing shells for next operation
  • Troubleshoot and assist with correction of issues with industrial electric and mechanical systems as well as robotic programs and integrated control systems including chilled water cooling control, HVAC control, Fanuc robotic control, and integrated computer software controls
  • Performs lab testing for ceramic slurry quality control parameters, makes appropriate adjustments based upon results
  • Observes process and supporting equipment performance in the cell; reports out process anomalies or deviations or need for equipment repair and/or initiates work orders.
  • Perform operator maintenance checks, tasks, and regular area cleaning.
  • Clocks in and out and vouchers on to jobs in ERP computer system.
  • Follow tech cards and work instructions and complete travelers and logs.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
