POSITION SUMMARY:
Farm Intern will be working on two main projects. The first will be working with FSQ on egg quality-based assessments including testing and tanker inspections. The second will work with the farm managers and supervisors to evaluate water quality and water treatment options. Other projects may be added.

Requirements

• Current or recent enrollment in an undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in the poultry production.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred enrollment in the Midwest Poultry Consortium Center of Excellence program.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting tankers and collecting samples
• Developing and presenting a tanker inspection SOP
• Collecting and plating egg and water samples
• Assessing current water sanitation practices
• Identifying areas of water quality improvement
• Developing water sanitation programs
• Presenting findings
• Support management as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
