About The Position

The Shelfer plays a critical role in ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction by coordinating the flow of food from the kitchen to the dining room. This position is responsible for accurate plating, timely order assembly, communication between kitchen staff and servers, and support of overall food service quality. The Shelfer is expected to demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and guest‑focused behavior that reflects Saltgrass and Landry’s brand values.

Requirements

Experience as a food expeditor or similar restaurant role preferred.
Understanding of restaurant health and safety rules.
Strong communication skills;ability to multitask in a fast-paceed environment.
Well-organized, efficient, and attentive to detail.
Pysical stamina to stand for long periods and carry heavy trays.

Responsibilities

Garnish and present plates according to Saltgrass/Landry’s recipes and standards.
Ensure food items meet quality expectations for temperature, appearance, and accuracy before leaving the line.
Assist with final preparation of dishes as needed.
Organize plate pickup and maintain proper priority of orders to support timely service.
Communicate guest requests, dietary needs, or special instructions between servers and kitchen staff.
Monitor ticket times and alert management of any delays or backlogs.
Stock and restock line items according to specifications.
Roll and polish silverware as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation; perform breakdown and cleanup duties at shift end.
Assist at other kitchen stations when necessary.
Exhibit courteous, efficient behavior consistent with the company’s guest service standards and core values (Kindness, Engagement, Empathy, Positivity).
Support servers to ensure timely delivery of food items to guests.
