About The Position

This position is for Forklift Operator PR04. The Team Member will be responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position is a dual-role responsible for forklift duties and also will be required to run the yard truck.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift a 50 pounds and push/pull 100 lb.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Must wear steel/composite toe boots that conform to site requirements.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment ( -10 degrees below zero to 40 degrees F).
  • Must be willing to accomplish other duties as assigned.
  • Documented forklift experience required.
  • Previous experience driving yard trucks required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates in a safe manner, and in accordance to all company policies and procedures.
  • Uses a handheld computer to pick and scan product.
  • Communicates effectively with other TM's and assists in coordinating to accomplish all assigned tasks.
  • Operates powered pallet jack, forklift and/or reach truck.
  • Inspects daily, charges batteries, maintains battery water level, and changes batteries as necessary.
  • Delivers raw materials, packaging, and pallets to the appropriate production areas.
  • Moves inventory in an organized manner to store in a subzero freezer, cooler, and a dry goods area.
  • Moves finished goods and work-in-progress from production lines to the shipping area.
  • Unloads trucks.
  • Covers and stretch-wraps pallets.
  • Ensures assigned production lines are continuously supplied with clean raw materials and packaging.
  • Records movement transactions in the SAP system.
  • Ensures all raw materials and finished goods are labeled correctly.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment according to 5S principles, GMP's, and USDA regulations.
  • Reports any damages, discrepancies, unsafe behaviors, and risks to Lead.
  • Continuously moves trailers in and out of loading docks.
  • Keeps corrugated room in order from production returned material.
  • Responsible for dumping all Offal from RTE/Cook/Raw/Crumb room.
  • Return all packaging supplies to EOS.
  • Inspects and notifies the supervisor of any mechanical issues.
  • Fuels tractor as needed.
  • Weigh loads at the scale house while empty and full.
  • Monitor and change out offal trailers as needed.
