About The Position

Builds complex production sheet metal assemblies, mechanical assemblies, utilizing drawings and work instructions. Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following: Build aviation Sheet Metal Assemblies by match drilling and deburring holes, installing solid and pull type rivets using rivet a bucking gun, hand rivet squeezer, pneumatic solid rivet squeezer, and pneumatic cherry gun. All assemblies are built using engineering drawings and sketches. The technician is responsible for ensuring rivets are installed per the standard AC43.13 requirements. Builds Mechanical Assemblies using engineering drawings and/or work instructions. Review completed work and ensure that the final assemblies and details are protected from damage. Ensure that all assembly work meet quality standards. Perform testing and functional checks of assembled products. Review drawings, and parts lists for accuracy and coordinates with other departments to resolve issues. Tear-down, evaluate and repair of returned components. Resolve assembly and documentation problems, report problems to the appropriate lead or supervisor for assistance and follows up with all non-compliance issues. Other Duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Capable of producing aviation sheet metal assemblies by following drawings, guides, and all applicable engineering documentation. The candidate must be able to proficiently utilize all the tools listed below and have a high attention to quality and detail.
  • Ability to apply fundamental concepts and knowledge of assembly skills and their application.
  • Dependable and self-motivated
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently
  • Employee must provide necessary hand tools to perform duties in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.

Nice To Haves

  • One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
  • Holder of a valid Airframe (A) License issued by the FAA with sufficient training, knowledge, and skills to perform Return to Service (RTS) of major structures after inspection/repair preferred.
