About The Position

The Sheet Metal Worker at Amentum is responsible for performing metal cutting, forming, bending, fitting, fabrication, and assembly tasks according to various specifications including drawings and blueprints. This role requires a strong understanding of ductwork, welding, and safety practices, as well as the ability to work in challenging environments, including heights and confined spaces.

Requirements

• Possess Journeyman status per union rules.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
• Pass pre-hire drug screening and Fit-for-Duty physical.
• OSHA-10 card and Construction Industry CPR/First-Aid card required.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and timekeeping programs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ferrous and nonferrous metals welding, braising, and soldering.
• Familiarity with safety culture and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform metal cutting, forming, bending, fitting, fabrication, and assembly according to drawings and blueprints.
• Competently layout, fabricate, and install ductwork, siding, and roofing components.
• Maintain and repair swamp coolers.
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and layouts.
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely.
• Climb and work off ladders and elevated platforms, wearing fall arrest gear as necessary.
• Research, specify, and order materials required for projects.
• Comply with all safety practices and environmental regulations.
• Perform all other position-related duties as assigned.
