About The Position

A Sheet Metal worker is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of metal fabricating equipment. A Sheet Metal worker works with a high degree of detail adhering to safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• High School degree, with a minimum of 1 year relevant manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of layouts, ability to read design prints, perform basic math and calculate conversions.
• Knowledge of hand tools, including pneumatic and electric driven power grinders and tools.
• Ability to use shears, press brakes, drill presses and CNC punch presses.
• Ability to operate and program CNC punch and CNC brake presses.
• Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate metal fabricating equipment such as press brakes, shears, rolls, punch presses, drill presses, iron worker, bands saws and other miscellaneous tools.
• Reads prints and routing tickets to determine methods, sequence, tolerance, material and process specifications.
• Works in other areas of the Fabrication Team skills matrix, may work in the welding area.
• Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane.
• Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work.
• Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.
