About The Position

Since 1996, RQC, LLC. has been a leading player in Southern California's robust commercial and governmental Design-Build economy. We now have a national presence with current projects exceeding $500M, spanning coast to coast, as well as internationally in the Caribbean. We are a full-service Design-Build company offering management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations team members working on location for each project. We specialize in fast-track new commercial construction for both public and private clients, with a primary focus in the Department of Defense (DoD) market. Our team has experienced significant growth and is expanding our Sheet Metal & Ductwork prefabrication capabilities to support construction projects across the United States and Caribbean. As part of this growth, we are seeking a Sheet Metal Pre-Fabrication Shop Foreman to join our team based at our Jacksonville, NC Pre-Fabrication warehouse. Contracted work is currently located in North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and continues to grow. This position reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for the daily supervision, direction, and coordination of sheet metal prefabrication shop operations. The Foreman ensures quality duct fabrication, maintains production efficiency, enforces safety standards, and supports project schedule requirements while aligning with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. Local candidates (greater Jacksonville, NC area) will be given priority; relocation may be considered. Limited travel to project sites, including military installations, may be required.

Requirements

  • A GED or high school diploma is the minimum formal education required for this position.
  • Minimum five (5) years of sheet metal fabrication experience required, with at least three (3) years in a leadership or foreman role.
  • Strong working knowledge of duct fabrication processes and shop production workflow required.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee daily shop operations, direct shop personnel, and maintain productivity standards required.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications required.
  • Working knowledge of SMACNA standards and fabrication codes required.
  • Experience conducting daily safety meetings and enforcing shop safety compliance required.
  • Ability to inspect and ensure all shop equipment remains fully operational; responsible for coordinating maintenance as needed.
  • Experience managing shop inventory and tracking stock levels to ensure uninterrupted production required.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate fabrication needs, fittings, and production requirements with project teams.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, etc.) required
  • CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour certifications required (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in design-build, government, military, or commercial construction environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with BIM or fabrication software preferred.
  • Additional safety certifications preferred; training can be provided: Trenching and shoring training Fall protection training Confined space training Forklift/Manlift certification Power actuated tools certification Lockout/Tagout training Scissor lift/boom lift certification EM-385 familiarity
