About The Position
Expert Staffing West is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Operator in the city of Chino, California for an industry-leading manufacturer. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $22 to $24 per hour, depending on experience. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in sheet metal operations, particularly with stamping presses. The role involves various tasks related to the preparation and manipulation of sheet metal, ensuring that all operations are performed efficiently and safely. As a Sheet Metal Operator, you will be responsible for moving and preparing sheet metal for work, measuring surfaces to determine the proper length, width, thickness, and coverage required for the job. You will operate shears to cut doors, sides, roofs, and small parts, and may also operate punch presses to create square, circular, and other shaped holes. Additionally, you will be expected to operate manual and computerized press brakes to bend different size flanges on sheet metal, making horizontal and vertical adjustments on the back gauge as necessary. The role may also require the use of notchers to make open or closed cuts for various components, as well as grinders and cutting torches for fabrication tasks. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential, as is the ability to lift heavy materials and tools, with a requirement to lift 25+ lbs. The position demands physical stamina, as operators will be standing for long periods. The successful candidate will possess strong mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. You must also be able to read and interpret blueprints and have experience working with machinery such as press brakes and shears. This role is critical to the manufacturing process, and attention to detail and safety is paramount.
