About The Position

The Sheet Metal Machine Technician/Programmer is responsible for creating programs for cutting, bending, and forming sheet metal parts using CAD/CAM software, ensuring precision and efficiency. They are also responsible for the day-to-day execution of sheet metal fabrication and programming, ensuring the timely completion of jobs, parts built to customer specifications, and a safe workplace. This is a combined programming and operating position. apg uses 14 to 20-gauge sheet metal to manufacture cash drawers. Hours for this position are flexible.

Requirements

  • Programming experience
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Sheet metal manufacturing experience
  • Must be able to travel for one week for training

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to program sheet metal machines (punch press, press brake, and/or lasers) - Trumpf experience a plus
  • Ability to use measurement and inspection equipment as needed, including calipers, rulers, and computer-aided measuring equipment
  • Communication proficiency, able to speak, read, and understand the English language
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to stand for most of the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds consistently

Responsibilities

  • Programming sheet metal machines
  • Operates sheet metal punch press, press brake, and other machines to make parts for apg to use in assembling cash drawers
  • Maintain established quality levels and checks
  • Maintain the equipment and work areas
  • Ensure maximum utilization of equipment in the area and adherence to the schedule
  • Support and enforce all Safety Program policies, rules, and procedures
