About The Position

The Sheet Metal Forming Operator at Lockheed Martin is responsible for performing routine operations to form and finish sheet metal details. This role involves following detailed instructions and using various hand and power tools to ensure the quality and specifications of the metal parts produced. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of arithmetic and measuring instruments such as scales and micrometers.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools for cutting and drilling materials.
  • Experience working from simple drawings and using templates.

  • Previous experience in sheet metal work preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine straightening, hand finishing, and forming operations on sheet metal.
  • Follow prescribed procedures, operations sheets, templates, and detailed instructions for forming operations.
  • Use hand and simple power tools to cut, drill, and form sheet metal parts.
  • Check parts for quality, including wrinkles, cracks, and distortion, ensuring conformance to specifications.
  • Document work as required to complete job assignments.
  • Perform daily and periodic cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Contribute to environmental health and safety practices in the workplace.
