About The Position

Pro Tech Mechanical, a Crete United company, has provided quality service and HVAC solutions to customers for over 20 years, specializing in commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, electrical, building automation, controls, and system maintenance. The Sheet Metal Foreman will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing HVAC projects with precision and excellence. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of ductwork, AHU, RTU, MUA, VAVs, EF, and other related equipment. The Foreman will lead a team of technicians, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards. The role demands extensive knowledge of duct joint assembly, hanger installation, and anchor systems for ductwork suspension, as well as proficiency in identifying HVAC equipment types and differentiating between low and high-pressure systems. The Foreman must be skilled in applying duct sealer, reading and interpreting blueprints, details, and submittals, and performing equipment and duct layout, including field modification of sheet metal duct offsets and fittings. Strong leadership skills are essential for training less experienced helpers and mechanics and coordinating tasks. The position also requires maintaining a clean company vehicle, excellent communication skills, and adherence to directives from Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Supervisors. A positive attitude, patience in teaching, dependability, and excellent attendance are expected. The Foreman will manage project budgets and manhours, follow Statement of Work directives, install systems according to plans, provide project updates, formulate addendums, coordinate inspections, assign daily tasks, prepare daily reports, manage crew timekeeping, and develop Daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Safety Analysis (HSA). They will actively work with and assist the crew in all installation tasks.

Requirements

  • 5 years of HVAC/Sheet Metal fabrication experience
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, team building and process improvement skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of ductwork, AHU, RTU, MUA, VAVs, EF, and other related equipment
  • Extensive knowledge of duct joint assembly, hanger installation, and anchor systems for ductwork suspension
  • Proficiency in identifying HVAC equipment types (AHU, RTU, MUA, VAVs, EF, etc.) and differentiating between low and high-pressure systems
  • Skilled in the application of duct sealer
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, details, and submittals
  • Capability to perform equipment and duct layout, including field modification of sheet metal duct offsets and fittings
  • A positive attitude, patience in teaching, dependability, and excellent attendance

Responsibilities
