The Sheet Metal Foreman position at BESCO involves overseeing and coordinating various aspects of sheet metal projects in Sevierville, TN. The foreman is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project scope. This includes managing project submittals for equipment location layouts and ensuring that only approved materials are utilized on-site. The foreman will sketch necessary ductwork and fittings for shop fabrication, ensuring that all designs meet project requirements. In addition to technical responsibilities, the foreman will coordinate jobsite activities with BESCO-Engert subcontractors, ensuring that all tasks are assigned effectively to sheet metal mechanics and helpers. Daily Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) will be filled out, and the foreman will communicate weekly with the General Superintendent regarding manpower needs. Participation in weekly or bi-weekly job site meetings with the Project Manager and General Contractor's team is also required to ensure alignment on project progress and challenges. Safety is a critical aspect of this role, as the foreman will conduct weekly safety toolbox talks with employees and coordinate the provision of proper tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary for job tasks. The foreman is also responsible for maintaining as-built redlined drawings for closeout documents, ensuring that all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date. The role requires strong conflict management skills to handle disagreements and crises constructively, ensuring a positive work environment.
