The purpose of your role as a Sheet Metal Field Foreman Manage Sheet Metal crews and sub-contractors (if applicable) to ensure projects are executed efficiently, profitably and to customer/client’s expectations. Provide leadership, schedule, coordinate, supervise, and ensure the safety and productivity of crews. Successful execution of all project activities in accordance with Company policies, procedures and key objectives, and in compliance with all applicable collective bargaining agreements. Safety: Assures site safety compliance by ensuring all safety requirements are being performed - this includes site specific safety plans, audits, tool box talks, pre-task planning and being proficient in using Industry Safe Facilitates safe work culture; is accountable for the safety of crew and must understand the legal liability of the role Collaborates with safety team to identify potential hazards and correct unsafe working conditions Educates and implements proactive safety measures per Company requirements and OSHA standards Ensures crewmembers apply standards for safe working conditions and are fit for work each day Culture: Champions an inclusive culture and accountable for adherence to Policies and Procedures by crew to ensure a respectful and inclusive work environment. 100% Maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. · Supports the mission, vision and values of the Company and works creatively to best support the Company’s long-term goals. Day to Day Leadership: Accountable for how the crew completes assigned work Handles workforce/customer relations issues respectfully and efficiently Garners respect from crew and peers Consults with field personnel on technical, installation and code-related questions and issues Schedules and documents inspections as needed to obtain necessary approvals from the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) Coaches and assists field personnel on installation efficiencies Develops leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities Typically leads up to three others efficiently Follows Project Plan and Timelines: Accountable for following project plans and schedules Ensures crew’s daily and weekly activities meet and comply with production goals, and customer and company expectations and specifications Accountable for ensuring that completed work meets standards Recommends work processes that improve productivity and product quality Manages materials and tools for all field personnel for which they have responsibility For those Foreman who are responsible for the whole job: Participates in identifying pre-fabrication opportunities Partners with shop to coordinate delivery and sequence/logistics of pre-fabrication If applicable, provides direction to subcontractors while holding them accountable to meeting project plan and timelines Communication, Reporting & Misc: Develops and maintains a good working relationship with General Contractor/Client Communicates and partners with other trades to ensure efficient sequence of installation and adherence to the project schedule Maintains open communication with Project Manager, APM and supportive staff Prepares and maintains daily reports, pre-task planning, Tool Box Talks and any other reporting as assigned by employer Reviews, analyzes and discusses weekly productivity reports in partnership with PM/Superintendent/General Foreman. Identifies and executes opportunities for improvement Conducts regular safety audits (as directed by job site) in accordance with OSHA standards and safety requirements Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations relevant to the industry Performs other duties as assigned What we’re looking for in you
