About The Position

W-Industries is an energy service company that specializes in Automation Solutions, I&E Construction Services, Power Generation and Packaged Equipment for the Energy and Industrial markets. Our expertise encompasses the full spectrum of system technologies from pneumatic - hydraulic control systems to state-of-the-art programmable solutions to chemical injection systems, and everything in-between. The Sheetmetal Fabricator is responsible for the layout, cutting, forming, assembling, and finishing of sheet metal parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role involves operating fabrication equipment, reading blueprints, and ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The Sheetmetal Fabricator plays a critical role in supporting production schedules and ensuring the timely delivery of precision components for W-Industries projects.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and techniques.
  • Ability to operate CNC and manual sheet metal machinery.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD layouts.
  • Knowledge of welding and finishing techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify fabrication errors and correct them efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • 3–5 years of sheet metal fabrication or related trade experience.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and use hands/arms for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, including cutting, grinding, and welding.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and machinery.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate sheet metal parts and assemblies using various tools, equipment, and machinery (shears, brakes, punch presses, rollers, grinders, etc.).
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine material requirements and fabrication methods.
  • Perform layout and measurement of sheet metal stock, ensuring precision and accuracy.
  • Weld, rivet, or otherwise join sheet metal components as required.
  • Inspect fabricated parts to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of fabrication equipment.
  • Follow established safety policies and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, and other fabricators to resolve production challenges.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
