About The Position

McKee Foods is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our Corporate Shop team.. Operate Sheet Metal equipment including shears, brakes, rollers, and hand tools to build new guards, chutes, ducts, etc. for the modification of plant machinery Build and help install new equipment in the plants Travel to branch locations for installations as needed Use computers to manage workload, charge time and materials and track daily schedules

Requirements

  • Less than two years full-time work experience
  • Ability and willingness to work independently, within teams, and with other departments
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated experience and abilities with sheet metal
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude
  • MIG/TIG welding experience
  • Demonstrated abilities in shop mathematics
  • Excellent attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Proven work and attendance record with solid recommendations
  • Commitment to personal safety and food safety
  • Willingness to work overtime, other shifts and weekends as required
  • Willing to travel to branch plants occasionally
  • Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move more than 100 pounds
  • LTO license (or ability to obtain). A good driving record is required

Nice To Haves

  • Good computer knowledge and associated skills
  • Aptitude for project leadership
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad, Solidworks, and CNC programming
  • Millwright experience or HVAC.
  • Proficient MIG/TIG welding skills
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent vocational-technical training
  • Experience with crane rigging and setting heavy equipment
  • Ability and willingness to work independently with minimal supervision
