About The Position

The Sheet Metal Fabrication Technician is responsible for performing various fabrication and assembly tasks related to the production of commercial roll-up door components. Tasks may include cutting, welding, machining, punching, and assembling metal parts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication, or machining.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to different fabrication tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cut steel tubing, profiles, sheet metal, or channels to specified dimensions.
  • Form and bend sheet metal components according to specifications using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Perform MIG welding on structural components such as barrels or guide assemblies.
  • Punch holes and slots in metal components using mechanical or hydraulic equipment.
  • Assemble metal parts using hand and power tools.
  • Inspect fabricated components for accuracy, quality, and structural integrity.
  • Document work performed and report any issues or deviations.
  • Able to lift and handle materials weighing over 40 lbs.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
