About The Position

The Estimator I – Sheet Metal is responsible for using proprietary computer software to analyze customer supplied 3D CAD models, provide customers quotations, and set customer expectations through design for manufacturing feedback. Shift 11pm to 7pm or 12pm - 8pm (Shift Diff $2.40)

Requirements

  • Ability to learn advanced proprietary graphical computer-aided analysis software.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize own workload.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow printed and computer-screen instructions, and direction from supervisors or technical leads
  • Associate’s Degree in CAD, Drafting, or Design; Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or similar (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Basic level of Microsoft Office Suite, (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Understand and interpret 3D solid models, 2d prints, and GD&T (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Extract information from customer-supplied 3D models and 2D print geometry through utilization of proprietary software to develop customer quotes.
  • Provide customers with design for manufacturing feedback as needed to improve customer experience.
  • Work with production staff to review methods ensuring optimal sheet metal manufacturing processes are utilized.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of all standard materials and hardware types, plating, powder coating, and welding requirements
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of organizational processes in order to convey benefits and respond to inquiries from customers within quotes.
  • Consult with outside vendors to ensure work can be performed within timelines and provide all necessary information to complete the job
  • Responds quickly to customer’s requests for changes
  • Consistently evaluates for best practice and improvement opportunities for self, team, and company.
  • Comply with all company quality and safety standards.
  • Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
