About The Position

We are actively seeking an experienced CNC Brake Technician to support precision sheet metal fabrication operations. This role focuses on programming, setting up, and running CNC press brake equipment to produce high-quality formed components. The ideal candidate has strong fabrication experience, understands tooling selection, and can maintain tight tolerances in a production environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with CNC press brake setup and operation
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience working with materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized steel
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Solid mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good mathematical skills for fabrication and layout work
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, twisting, and squatting for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions (heat and cold)

  • Experience with CNC graphical interfaces
  • Background in manual press brake operations
  • Strong organizational and situational awareness skills

Responsibilities

  • Set up and break down press brake jobs, including loading programs, configuring tooling, and preparing machines for production
  • Program and operate CNC press brake equipment for forming light-gauge metal components
  • Interpret blueprints, bend allowances, and material specifications to ensure accuracy and repeatability
  • Select appropriate punches, dies, and tooling based on part requirements and material type
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Verify machine calibration and perform in-process quality checks
  • Identify and resolve forming challenges (e.g., springback, tooling wear, material inconsistencies)
  • Perform routine equipment checks, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Track production activity including part counts, materials, and setup documentation
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
  • Work independently and make sound decisions regarding setup and production flow
