About The Position

Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-produce dental hand instruments by performing the following duties and responsibilities. Essential Duties: Condition of employment requires knowledge and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as applicable to the position Be proactive with own safety and report any potential safety issues to supervisor Record product production and order details on specified forms, batch records and logs. Uses grinder and/or sharpening machine to sharpen steel tips to specific design specifications, for all dental hand instruments AEI manufactures that require sharp edges, Perform in process inspections and verify product meets established criteria Use measuring tool to confirm accuracy per specifications. Learn quality processes and procedures. Remove and report any incomplete or defective products for quality review as necessary Consistently meet or exceed production goals and efficiency while maintaining quality standards Follow all written and verbal instructions/guidelines Perform general equipment maintenance and keep work area clean and organized, May work at different workstations as production needs require Learn instruments and related product lines, Learns and applies quality processes and procedures, Become familiar with ISO, FDA and other regulatory standards, Other duties as assigned or necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Manufacturing – Understanding of manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Hand dexterity – Holding the instrument at a sharpening wheel in a steady and calculated manner.
  • Eyesight – Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus for detailed work and inspection
  • Language Ability—Able to speak and read English. Ability to read and interpret documents, such as prints, drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Math Ability - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
