About The Position

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a SharePoint Administrator (IT Applications Analyst) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with regular time spent in the Milwaukee office. This role is part of a job family (IT Applications Analyst and Senior IT Applications Analyst) where experience will determine the specific level. The SharePoint Administrator (IT Applications Analyst) holds overall responsibility for the company's on-premise and online enterprise SharePoint environments. This role provides both project and operational support, including making improvements to standards and supporting file and collaboration systems. The position involves working as a team member to support the company’s computer application systems and underlying database systems, encompassing tasks such as designing, modifying, developing, testing, configuring, implementing, and decommissioning programs, scripts, processes, and procedures, and participating in a periodic on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, MIS, Data Science, Information Science, Engineering is required. Other bachelor’s degrees will be considered based on related IT experience.
  • Successful completion of a certified Application Development Apprenticeship will also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years of SharePoint administration, support, and project delivery.
  • Strong technical understanding of application development practices and strong analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong customer service skills to act as a liaison between IT and business clients.
  • Ability to present technical information to non-technical users both in small and large groups.
  • Ability to understand technical environments supporting document management solutions.
  • Experience in the design of information architecture, administration, training and support of document management systems, and SharePoint Online/M365 administration.
  • Understanding of document management best practices.
  • Understand the external access model using Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, manage, and maintain the SharePoint environment on prem and in the cloud.
  • Plan and implement SharePoint upgrades, service applications, and custom SharePoint features.
  • Develop and maintain search architecture.
  • Understand and maintain 3rd party applications or tools used for SharePoint.
  • Provides daily support to systems, software applications, databases or tools.
  • Analyzes error conditions and expedites problem resolution.
  • Analyzes business requirements and data to provide recommendations on document management solutions.
  • Writes documentation to describe SharePoint architecture and develop a disaster recovery plan.
  • Perform site collection administration duties.
  • Leverage PowerShell and other coding language for SharePoint administration.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs.
  • Writes detailed descriptions of functional and system requirements and system modifications.
  • Participate in design discussions.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Collaboration Team and other business areas to share best practices and standards.
  • Participation in a periodic on call rotation.
