Shared Living Provider Location: Akron, OH 44303 Job Overview Our Shared Living Homes initiative offers individuals the chance to experience supportive services in a family-oriented environment. This approach encourages active participation in community and family life, aligned with individual interests. Prior to selecting a home, clients can spend quality time with providers, fostering familiarity and trust. Our dedicated providers are on hand to offer aid with tasks including meal planning, laundry, medical appointments, and facilitating community engagement for various activities. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Shared Living Provider to join our team in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Shared Living Foster Provider and a strong commitment to supporting individuals in a home-based setting. This role involves providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for individuals who require assistance with daily living activities.
Requirements
- Experience as a Shared Living Foster Provider or similar role in direct care, human services, or related field
- Highschool Diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to create a supportive and structured home environment
- Knowledge of community resources and support services
- Valid driver’s license with less than 6 points and reliable transportation preferred
- Background check and relevant certifications as required by state regulations
Responsibilities
- Provide required client supervision levels
- Transportation as needed
- Schedule and attend appointments
- Room and board, including three nutritionally balanced meals and snacks each day
- A fully furnished room
- Laundry services or assistance as needed
- Routine hygiene supplies including soap, toilet paper, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, over-the-counter medications, and, for females, menstrual hygiene supplies
- Maintain a clean and safe home
- Ensure the client will not be excluded from using common areas
- Comply with all applicable state laws, standards, regulations, and specific standards as set forth by any standards incumbent upon the Center for the provision of services to its clients
- Provide the client with services as designated by this Contract, the client's Individual Service Plan
