Shalom Austin is seeking a skilled and motivated part-time grant writer to join our team and help us secure funding to support our important work, especially in the areas of social services and education. This is a contract position for at least a 6-8-month contract period. The salary for this position is based on years of relevant experience, ranging from $40 to $50 an hour, with a minimum commitment of 10-15 hours per week. The grant writer will work closely with the Shalom Austin Development Director and the Chief Social Services Officer of Jewish Family Service (JFS) to research, write, and submit grant proposals to various funding organizations and foundations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant writing, excellent research and organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and potential funders. This hybrid position allows for both remote and in-person work, and the selected candidate can start as soon as possible. The grant writer will primarily report to the Development Director, Major Gifts and Corporate Partnerships, and will participate in weekly meetings to develop and execute an action plan for grant submissions and follow-ups. Additionally, the grant writer will collaborate with other Shalom Austin staff members and lay leaders as needed.
