About The Position

Performs mining operations within the shaft, including installation & removal of infrastructure. Operates and maintains mining equipment, follows safety protocols, assists with shaft sinking and maintenance, and communicates effectively with team members.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively.
  • Ability to safely use and handle a variety of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering prints (civil work, structural work, rock excavation work).
  • Ability to work as part of a project planning team.
  • Previous quality experience is required.
  • Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to pass background clearance check, drug screening and physical.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • High level of attention to detail, neatness, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

  • MSHA Underground miner training would be considered an asset.
  • Underground Mining experience would be an asset as would knowledge of applicable mine regulations pertaining to construction in mining.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Perform mining operations within the shaft, including drilling, blasting, and mucking.
  • Operate and maintain mining equipment such as drills, loaders, and hoists.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Assist with shaft sinking, development, and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
  • Work closely with shaft leader and other team members to achieve production targets.
  • Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding mining operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the shaft work area.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and procedures.
  • If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • Comply with daily, weekly, and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
  • Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.
  • Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility.
