About The Position

The SFA Federal Compliance Officer position at Sinte Gleska University is a full-time role within the Financial Aid Department, focusing primarily on federal compliance and the reconciliation of Title IV programs. This career position offers the potential for advancement to the role of Assistant Financial Aid Director. The officer will work under the supervision of the Financial Aid Director and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations while managing various financial aid programs. The officer's duties will include reconciling and collecting data for the Federal Pell Grant Program and Title IV campus-based programs, such as Federal Work Study and FSEOG, and assisting in the preparation of the annual FISAP report due on October 1st. Additionally, the officer will determine student financial aid eligibility and calculate award amounts for Title IV programs. Familiarity with various software applications, including PowerFaids, Jenzebar, and the US Department of Education's systems, is essential for this role. The officer will also be responsible for staying current with technology related to financial aid and assisting in training staff within the department. Participation in relevant financial aid conferences and workshops is expected to enhance knowledge and skills. The officer will need to review and understand the SGU Financial Aid Office Policies and Procedures, as well as federal regulations governing Title IV aid, and assist in updating these policies as necessary. Confidentiality regarding student records and compliance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations is paramount in this role.
