About The Position

Are you an experienced Sewer with a passion for sustainability, creativity and crafting quality products? Diamond Brand Gear is currently seeking part-time Sewing Operators to create upcycled outdoor gear by utilizing sustainable fabric from deconstructed products produced inhouse. This an exciting opportunity for sewers who want to put their own flare on durable gear that will be utilized by outdoor aficionados everywhere! Flexible hours/days negotiable.

Requirements

• Must have a thorough understanding of sewing machines and different sewing techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Dedication to learning and perfecting a skill
• Must have excellent hand dexterity, hand/eye coordination, and fast motion
• Exhibits organizational, logical thought and time management skills
• Must work in a cooperative manner with Supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
• At least 3 years of sewing experience required
• Must be able to sit at the sewing machine for extended periods of time.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule outside traditional shift days/hours as business need arises.
• Must attend work on a regular and predictable basis.
• Must complete assigned tasks in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness.
• Must uphold Company policies, including the anti-harassment program.
• Must uphold the highest standard of integrity, honesty, and ethical behavior.
• Must work effectively and efficiently under stressful conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturing process knowledge a plus
• Previous experience crafting items either for resale or for personal use preferred.
• Machine-shop, job-shop, manufacturing, or other production experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Operates programmable tackers, single needle machines, double needle machines, use of folders and tooling for specific products
• Ensures the quality of sew to match sewn samples in line
• Provides feedback to supervisor on process improvements to safety, quality and/or production efficiency.
• Collaborate with team, share ideas, listen, and learn to improve productivity
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
