About The Position

The Sewer Collections Operator I/II position at Springville City Corporation is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting the stormwater and sewer collection systems. This role involves operating heavy equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to emergency calls. The operator will work under the direction of the Wastewater Collections-Stormwater Superintendent and Sewer Collections Lead Worker, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintaining required certifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Utah driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Utah Grade II Certified Wastewater Collections Operator (Unrestricted) within six months of hire date for Operator II.
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
• NASSCO Certificate and Traffic Control Technician Certificate for Operator II.
• Two years of experience as an Operator I for Operator II.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with various computer skills for daily, weekly, and monthly reports (Excel, Word, Esri, etc.).
• Ability to solve various problems/issues while in the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining, repairing, and inspecting the stormwater and sewer collection systems.
• Operate heavy equipment and hand tools, including JET-VAC combo truck, sweeper, CCTV equipment, backhoe, loader, skid steer, and dump trucks.
• Maintain and lubricate automotive and field equipment, making minor repairs as needed.
• Assist in the setup and execution of traffic control devices.
• Respond to customer requests and emergency calls on a 24-hour basis while on-call duty.
• Assist with the installation and/or repair of stormwater and sewer pipelines and related structures.
• Follow a preventative maintenance program and assist in the safe removal of stormwater and sewer blockages.
• Inspect stormwater and sewer collection systems using CCTV equipment.
• Perform proper trenching and shoring when necessary.
• Work well with and assist other departments as needed.
