Conduct site evaluations, soil probes, and witness percolation tests to determine suitability. Review, approve, deny, or revoke sewage permit applications per Act 537 and PA DEP regulations. Inspect new sewage system installations and repairs for code compliance. Enforce state and local regulations, issue notices of violation when necessary. Maintain accurate field notes, inspection logs, permits, and official records. Educate and advise property owners, developers, installers, and municipal officials. Collaborate with municipal leadership, engineers, health departments, and regulatory agencies. Prepare reports, attend hearings or court proceedings as required. Stay current on regulatory updates, industry standards, and best practices through continuing education.
