Come find your “more” with Mohawk! What we need: Mohawk is looking for a Sew on Operator in the Dalton, Ga area. In this role, you will sew rolls of carpet together for continuous production. What you’ll do: Operate sewing machine and knife and ensuring that they are sewn in correctly. Run carpet in J-box making sure it is running in straight. Watch J-box to ensure carpet is entering accumulator in proper position. Watch for torn leader or seams and re-sew them to prevent tear outs. Inspect carpet as it rolls into the machine to alert supervisor of defects. Keep J-box and accumulator as full as possible at all times. Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision Follow all established standard operating procedures Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary Perform other tasks assigned by management
Requirements
- Must have valid lift truck license or complete lift truck certification
- Pays attention to details.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
- Frequently required to reach, handle, stand, walk, sit, and stoop.
- Occasionally required to kneel.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently throughout a 12 hour shift.
- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts either day or night, weekdays or weekends as scheduled
