About The Position

THE ROLE: Our site in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Setup Technician Apprentice to join our team. This role is a critical part of the setup team that is responsible for providing technical support to injection molding equipment. HOURS FOR THIS POSITION ARE DAY SHIFT 7AM-3:30PM MONDAY-FRIDAY WHAT YOU’LL DO: Create and maintain a safe working environment. Wears required Personal Protective Equipment. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures. Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor. Production Equipment Setup: Setup, Inspect and Adjust Production Equipment: Follow production schedules, read, interpret and follow production orders, equipment setup requirements and standard operation procedures. Production Equipment Operation, operate production equipment according to production schedule, process, protocol and safety requirements: Read, interpret, or follow technical drawings, formulas and process control sheets efficiently. Demonstrate proper production equipment start up, operation and shutdown, demonstrate appropriate documentation and reporting, perform standard production tasks while identifying and correcting problems. Product products that meet or exceed quality, volume and cost requirements: Ability to monitor and inspect materials, products, parts or finished goods, demonstrate awareness or ability to signal or take correction action when necessary to ensure product is consistent with specifications, demonstrate the use of applicable systems to document, and report work and escalate quality issues as appropriate. Shut down, disassemble and maintain equipment: demonstrate ability to monitor and inspect equipment for periodic maintenance, or possible maintenance issues; demonstrate ability to shut down, disassemble and maintain equipment; demonstrate awareness or ability to follow basic troubleshooting guides; demonstrate awareness for steps and processes to reduce scrap. Inventory and Material processes: demonstrate awareness and adherence to key processes which influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness or product/system quality; ability to learn and apply lean manufacturing principles. Continuous Improvement: demonstrate the understanding implementation and integration of continuous improvement tools to eliminate nonvalue activities; participate in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen, etc. General Business and Industry Knowledge: ability to perform computer data entry; complete miscellaneous tasks assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years demonstrates the desire and the initiative to learn.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Performs basic functions required to produce product.
  • Trains to operate process injection molding machines.
  • Works under general supervision of more senior level setup technician.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to adapt to workforce, work environment and customer needs.
