About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is offering opportunities for a Setup Person Powered Hand Tools to join their Materials Management & Transportation team in Everett and Auburn, Washington. The Setup Person will be responsible for cleaning, setting up, and maintaining various specialized external tools to meet Boeing specifications, performing visual and functional checks, troubleshooting issues, and managing inventory. They will also assist production teams in selecting appropriate power equipment, ensuring all tools are in optimal condition for safe operation, and upholding safety and quality standards to meet regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Requirements

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • 1+ year of experience working with precision measuring tools.
  • 1+ year of experience working with powered hand tools.
  • 1+ years of experience as a machinist, mechanic or other mechanical aptitudes.
  • 1+ years of experience working with detailed work instructions or reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
  • 1+ years of experience working with safety and quality processes and procedures.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Successful candidates for this position must successfully complete the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze work in the area, determine priorities, and sequence tasks based on customer requirements.
  • Develop, update, and implement processes and procedures as required.
  • Clean, set up, maintain, and perform minor repairs on specialized external tools per Boeing specifications and Hole Set-up Pre-Sheets (HPSS).
  • Clean and adjust sealing equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Perform visual and functional checks on tools and accessories, inspecting for damage.
  • Select, install, adjust cutting tools, bushings, guides, and locators for powered hand tools, and load program information using precision measuring tools.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot power tool problems to determine causes of malfunctions and recommend improvements.
  • Receive tools, equipment, and supplies to support the shop, logging in receivables using various computer programs.
  • Assist production in determining the correct power equipment for jobs and conduct necessary tests.
  • Manage inventory of tools, shop supplies, and materials, auditing periodically for accuracy.
  • Arrange for the loan of tools and equipment as required.
  • Send power tools to the tool repair area for maintenance and repair of internal drive and feed mechanisms.
  • Use and update various information systems to perform assigned tasks and maintain thorough inventory recording and control systems.
  • Inspect the contents of toolboxes and issue hold-out notices as required.
  • Train and assist other employees with functions, methods, and procedures by sharing information and answering questions.
