About The Position

SVS Group is looking for a skilled and motivated Set Up Technician to join our client’s team in Rancho Cordova. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical skills who enjoys working with engines, hydraulics, and machinery, and who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service. Role Overview: As a Set Up Technician, you will set up and maintain commercial and contractor equipment, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, welding, and minor painting. You will also keep the shop organized, maintain tools, ensure safety standards are met, and complete accurate paperwork.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and live within 30 miles of Rancho Cordova.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and reliably.
  • Active, hands-on role involving lifting up to 50 lbs (75 lbs with assistance).
  • Full mobility to bend, kneel, and work under equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized education or experience in gas/diesel engine maintenance preferred.
  • Experience with turf equipment is a plus.
  • Clean driving record preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Setup & Maintenance: Set up new equipment for customers and demonstrations.
  • Recondition used equipment for resale, including repairs and cosmetic improvements.
  • Perform inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Engine & System Maintenance: Maintain and tune gas and diesel engines.
  • Repair hydraulic and electrical systems and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Sharpen and maintain blades, ensuring safety and proper balance.
  • Safety & Professionalism: Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Administrative Tasks: Accurately complete Service Repair Orders (SROs) and other required paperwork.
  • Order parts on time and track maintenance schedules.
  • Use Microsoft Office and other software as needed for job tasks.
  • Assist in shop productivity and support other departments as needed.
