The Set-Up Technician is responsible for assisting in the setup, adjustment, and basic troubleshooting of production machinery used in the manufacturing of automotive parts. This role supports Class A technicians and operators by preparing equipment for production runs, performing minor maintenance, and ensuring machines are operating safely and efficiently.

  • Assist with machine setups and changeovers under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Perform basic adjustments and calibrations to ensure proper machine operation.
  • Prepare tools, dies, and fixtures for upcoming production runs.
  • Conduct visual inspections and basic quality checks during setup.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow 5S principles.
  • Document setup activities and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Support preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • 1-2 years of experience in machine setup or technical support in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
  • Works well under direction and supports senior technicians.
  • Follows setup instructions and ensures accuracy.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Open to training and skill development.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Familiarity with production machinery (e.g., presses, CNC, molding machines).
  • Ability to read simple work instructions and setup sheets.
  • Basic computer or scanner skills for data entry.
