About The Position

MW Components in Merrill, WI is looking for a Set-Up Operator in our Heading/Forging/Forming department. Summary: Produces machined parts by operating a cold forming fastener heading machine for new, special, regular, or experimental jobs. This is a first shift position with hours Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:00pm.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
Some computer literacy required
1-3 years cold head forming experience - Knowledge of the manufacturing process
Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc.
Capable of using hand tools (i. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)
Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to withstand stress that may accompany deadlines, or work on complicated problems for extended periods of tim

Nice To Haves

Certification in the metal trades industry
3+years of cold heading experience

Responsibilities

Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Set up of various machines within the cell
Operates machines as needed
Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
Performs preventative maintenance including lubricating machines when needed
Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.
Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of parts
Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances
Follows schedules and procedures
Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
Assists other forming operators if needed
Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions.
Responsible for quality of own work
Forklift (i. powered industrial truck) operation.
