Duties include installing and removing tooling, performing equipment repairs, following all company policies and safety procedures, and maintaining housekeeping standards. Additional tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have an outstanding work record.
  • Position requires an HS Diploma or GED, and 2-3 years related experience.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and mechanical skills are also required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally is required, as is the ability to perform basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to work with others effectively as a part of a team is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support a safe workplace by following rules and speaking up when you see unsafe actions.
  • Follow all required safety procedures and PPE guidelines.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns, hazards, near misses, or injuries to supervisor on shift.
  • Follow all standard work procedures to ensure equipment runs product to quality standards.
  • Report equipment problems that could lead to quality defects of product.
  • Learn and perform all tool room functions and thermoforming set-ups.
  • Read and use measuring tools (rule, micrometer, calipers).
  • Set-up and operate all tool room equipment.
  • Work from verbal instruction, sketches, or blueprints.
  • Work with minimal supervision and be accessible by radio at all times for direction.
  • Recommend component upgrades that increase productivity or reduce overtime.
  • Inspect equipment for problems and make adjustments as needed.
  • Complete all required paperwork correctly.
  • Maintain housekeeping in production areas and on equipment (sweeping, mopping, wiping down machines, removing waste) to keep the work area clean, safe, and contamination-free.
  • Work closely with tool room mechanics to ensure that adequate supplies are “on-hand”.
  • Identify different plant materials correctly.
  • Safely operate forklifts, hand-jacks, hydraulic cranes, and other powered equipment.
  • Work in any area of the plant and overtime as needed.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.
