About The Position

Position is responsible for delivering high-quality service to both internal and external members while maintaining compliance with Credit Union policies, procedures, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements. This role supports mortgage loan operations through, escrow management, document processing, and member servicing. The Mortgage Servicing Specialist contributes to overall operational efficiency while ensuring excellent service and relationship building.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry
  • General understanding of mortgage servicing and financial institution operations
  • Working knowledge of mortgage loan processes and escrow management
  • Ability to maintain compliance with loan servicing regulations and deadlines
  • Minimum of 1 year loan operations experience or 2 years of customer service experience in a credit union or financial institution
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with general computer systems and software applications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform accurate and complete document processing and data input

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, and VA loan documents preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong member relationships that reflect care and value
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all internal policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable laws
  • Assist with payment processing and corrections.
  • Support the preparation of payoff statements, and record release documents in a timely manner
  • Audit mortgage loan files, in relation to loan servicing, to ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Disburse escrow payments for property insurance, flood insurance, and private mortgage insurance
  • Monitor and maintain escrow accounts, ensuring timely tax payments in accordance with state and county deadlines
  • Follow up on expired property insurance policies
  • Assist members with servicing issues and inquiries in a courteous and professional manner
  • Provide quality customer service to internal teams and external members
  • Maintain organized and accurate filing, scanning, and data entry processes
  • Ensure consistent attendance and punctuality, as regular attendance is essential to performance
