The Servicing Officer at Newtek One is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with existing borrowers, ensuring outstanding service to both internal and external customers. This role involves handling customer inquiries, monitoring loan accounts, and assisting borrowers with servicing requests, all while promoting additional Newtek services to enhance customer partnerships.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer.
  • Handle all customer phone and correspondence inquiries.
  • Conduct daily collection calls for all loans past due 0 - 120 days.
  • Identify problems and inform Asset Management.
  • Assist borrowers with servicing action requests by collecting necessary financial information.
  • Monitor construction loans in collaboration with the Construction Loan department.
  • Monitor deposit accounts with loan customers.
  • Monitor Line of Credit payments and advances.
  • Order site inspections on all accounts past due 45 days.
  • Send past due letters if a loan reaches 30 or 60 days past due.
  • Process payments via ACH and ensure new borrowers are set up for automatic ACH.
  • Assist borrowers seeking payoff by ordering payoff letters from Loan Accounting.
  • Release collateral and insurance for paid-off loans within 30 days of payoff.
  • Contact each borrower at least once per quarter.
  • Ensure current business/personal financial statements and tax returns are obtained.
  • Update key data fields in Loan Manager.
  • Assist Post-Loan Closing and Insurance departments with missing documentation.
  • Monitor collateral securing the loan, including verifying real estate taxes and insurance.
  • Ensure daily sending of insurance request letters for borrowers with expired insurance coverage.
  • Assist with various company audits and other projects assigned by Management.
  • Cross-sell other Newtek services to new or existing customers.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience handling commercial transactions.
  • Knowledge in reading and understanding commercial and financial documents (tax returns, business/personal financial statements).
  • Basic knowledge of insurance requirements and real estate taxes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong follow-up skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Well-organized with an understanding of SBA lending requirements.
  • Bilingual skills are helpful.
  • College Degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
