About The Position

WHAT YOU WILL DO: As a ServiceNow CMDB Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program. You will play a crucial role in assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a ServiceNow CMDB solution.

Requirements

  • Certification: Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification (i.e., CompTIA Security + CE cert.)
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Technical skills: Strong expertise in ServiceNow, ITSM processes and their integration with CMDB.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting.
  • Work experience with HAM/SAM processes, including asset lifecycle management, license compliance, software usage optimization, inventory tracking, and reconciliation and vendor audits.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, databases, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data modeling, normalization, and data integrity concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
  • current/active Secret clearance required with eligibility for TS/SCI
  • Must have current U.S. citizenship for this role due to the required Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Current or past work experience in ServiceNow software development is preferred.
  • Familiarity with additional ServiceNow modules (ITOM, ITAM, SPM, ATF, etc.).
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – CMDB.
  • Experience with Linux server administration and MariaDB best practices.
  • Experience with integrations using REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Knowledge of ITIL v4 principles and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Application Control and Compliance Verification (ACCV-V) for ensuring compliance and governance across IT assets.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified System Engineer and ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring high standards of data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Lead the development and implementation of ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping processes to improve asset visibility and data integrity.
  • Lead HAM/SAM processes, including asset lifecycle management, license compliance, software usage optimization, inventory tracking, and reconciliation and vendor audits.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective CMDB solutions.
  • Establish and enforce CMDB governance policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CMDB, Discovery, and associated ServiceNow modules.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including workflows, configurations, and knowledge base articles.
  • Support ServiceNow platform upgrades, patches, and performance optimization.
  • Integrate CMDB with other ITSM processes such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on CMDB usage, governance, and best practices.
