MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a ServiceNow / Azure Solutions Architect SME, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role via the following: Designs, implements, governs, and maintains the overall architectural framework for ServiceNow solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with business goals and industry best practices (ITIL, CSDM) Oversee the deployment, administration, and maintenance of ServiceNow instances, ensuring configuration consistency across development, QA, and production environments, and managing upgrades and performance optimization Act as a ServiceNow subject matter expert (SME), providing technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, conducting code reviews, and enforcing architectural standards and governance processes Create estimations on effort required to produce ServiceNow functionality Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for our Azure cloud environment. This “ownership role” is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions Understand Azure architecture principles and the ability to architect sophisticated solutions, including Virtual Networks (VNETs), networking, and peering configurations. Lead the implementation of high-availability and scalable solutions across availability zones and regions, while also managing and securing traffic with application firewalls and gateways. Contribute to critical system integrations, including the effective use of automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as GitLab, Terraform, and Ansible Advise and oversee the software testing process to ensure that all NFRs are clearly tested Provide analysis of security protection technologies as necessary Collaborate closely with system and software architects and product teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize our system and software development lifecycle Identify potential risks and issues related to the solution and take appropriate steps to mitigate them Provide expert-level support for complex incidents, performing root cause analysis and ensuring platform stability and performance Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation (design specifications, architecture diagrams, process flows) and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to create alignment between customers, management, and engineering staff Serve as the technical advisor, overseeing all technical aspects of implementations, resolving technical issues, and defining best practices for configuration, scripting, and workflow automation Serve as the primary technical face of the organization to key customers and stakeholders Proactively ensure customer satisfaction, deeply understand their mission-critical needs and strategic objectives, and drive alignment between customer expectations and the engineering organization’s delivery roadmap to guarantee successful mission outcomes Refine, elaborate, and document customer requirements Define and document appropriate technologies to satisfy requirements Collaborate with engineering teams to solve technical problems and prioritize issues Mentor other architects and engineers Maintain current ServiceNow and industry certifications, while obtaining additional certifications WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. Requirements

  • Required Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
  • Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience in leadership roles with progressively increasing scopes of responsibility
  • Required Skills: - ServiceNow Requirements: Extensive experience with ServiceNow architecture, development, and best practices, including strong knowledge of the platform's core modules Deep proficiency in JavaScript (client-side and server-side), Glide API, HTML, CSS, and AngularJS Prior hands-on work with ServiceNow or modern DevOps tooling. Must understand how to provision cloud resources with terraform and ansible using Infrastructure as Code principles and a CI/CD deployment pipeline Ability to produce level of estimates and basic deployment plans for ServiceNow functionality Demonstrated ability to independently develop technical engineering roadmaps, architecture diagrams, reference architectures, and supporting visuals to drive alignment and communicate long-term direction Excellent understanding of the Agile software testing process and lifecycle, from smoke test to integration to production deployment Ability to identify, understand, document, and create functionality aligning with customer value streams Ability to produce level of estimates and basic deployment plans for ServiceNow functionality - Azure Requirements: Recent experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred) or other major cloud service providers to include both architectural and engineering ownership of the solution Demonstratable experience solutioning and driving modernization of legacy applications and architecture end to end in an Azure environment Strong skills at translating architecture and engineering plans into deployed cloud architecture and component resources. Hands-on experience with cloud migration programs Proficiency in architecture modeling using SysML or UML Experience designing and implementing microservices and API-first architectures - General Requirements: Demonstrable experience presenting complex design and solutions to government customers Practical experience implementing DevSecOps practices, Agile methodologies, and associated toolchains Hands-on experience leading the end-to-end evaluation of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and components for technical fit, security, performance, scalability, and integration within complex environment Ability to identify and learn new technologies quickly Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to track and manage multiple deliverables and timelines across product teams and task orders Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Strong presentation skills with the ability to confidently articulate in-depth technical concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proven strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills Strong analytical and debugging skills Ability to coach, guide, and mentor junior developers
  • Required Certification(s): ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator
  • Clearance Level: Must possess an active Secret or higher clearance -or- be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
