About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Service Worker is to serve as a vital and valuable asset to a Maintenance Team where your mechanical aptitude abilities will directly impact the quality of ensuring all public transportation vehicles are maintained safely and efficiently.

Requirements

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of company and customer records.
Exhibits credibility, flexibility, and adaptability.
Demonstrates capability to strategically plan ahead to meet deadlines and future company needs.
One (1) year experience in minor vehicle maintenance and cleaning
Ability to obtain and maintain a required Commercial Driver’s License (training is provided)
Must pass USDOT physical and drug screen
High School diploma/ equivalent or combination of education and experience To perform required duties and responsibilities for this position
Frequently exposed to overhead reaching, pushing/ pulling and gripping tools
May be required to stoop, bend, kneel or climb
Occasionally lifts objects weighing 5-50 lbs.
Frequently uses hands/fingers to manipulate parts and equipment by utilizing operating tools such as wrenches, screw drivers, pliers, and other tools to successfully perform essential job related tasks on a daily basis
Frequently exposed to outside elements of extreme heat and cold
Occasionally operates a sit down forklift
Frequently exposed to fumes, odors, hazardous materials, dirt and dust
Frequently operates bus through bus wash and fuel island

Responsibilities

Fuels and checks fluid levels on equipment
Washes and cleans coaches and other company vehicles
Performs janitorial duties related to Lextran facilities
Performs minor mechanical duties such as checking tires and adjusting air pressure, changing bulbs and lenses, checking batteries, jump starting buses and making minor repairs
Answers road calls and performs bus changes as necessary
Performs general upkeep of bus shelters and bus stops
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and Maintenance supervisors
Maintain effective communication with all staff to ensure continuity of care
Assists with identifying areas for improvement and making constructive changes
Understands all aspects of the company and keeps abreast of all changing policies and procedures
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and Maintenance Supervisors
