About The Position

The Service Worker position within the Public Works Department of the City of American Canyon is a temporary, part-time role focused on maintaining and supporting the city's infrastructure. Service Workers are essential in performing routine and preventative maintenance across various divisions, including Parks Maintenance, Streets and Storm Drains, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collections, and Buildings. Requirements

• Some experience performing manual labor.
• Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License at the time of the temporary hire.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, clean, and maintain buildings and other facilities.
• Perform janitorial, ground, and facilities maintenance.
• Disinfect and scrub toilet facilities and showers.
• Assist in maintaining the City's infrastructure by picking up debris, clearing weeds, cleaning tanks, sedimentation basins, and screens.
• Prepare baseball and softball fields for games.
• Deliver and operate equipment as required.
• Assist in maintaining pool facilities.
• Assist in special programs relating to recreation activities.
• Set up for various events and monitor events, including securing facilities after the event.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
