Mid-level fuel truck operator position. Employee works for the Shop Manager. Performs work in inspection and fueling of farm equipment and vehicles. Can inspect heavy duty trucks according to DOT and CHP rules and regulations. Must be able to fill out and maintain log books or comparable means of keeping driving hours logged as well as fueling sheets and keep track of gallons used. Capable of completing assigned tasks independently as well as with other mechanics. Any other tasks assigned by shop management. Functions include but are not limited those shown below, in addition to any duties assigned to an Ag Shop Mechanic Helper: Primary Responsibilities: Use safe practices and principles working around equipment and machinery Fuel and inspect farming equipment Perform preventative maintenance by changing oil and filters as well as other parts Service and inspect heavy duty vehicles as per BIT regulations Assist mechanics in inspections on air brake systems. Assist mechanics in inspecting steering, suspension, wheel bearings, engine cooling systems, Air filter systems, HVAC, hydraulic systems Repair and replace fuel hoses and fittings Maintain a clean and safe work area Any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by shop management Additional Functions Driving heavy duty trucks Keeping all required documentation and licensing current and legible
