About the position

The Service Technician will be responsible for performing HVAC equipment preventive maintenance, including troubleshooting and diagnostics, as well as maintaining equipment and systems operation logs and reports. This role requires working with minimal supervision on customers' sites within Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands (USVI).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance of industrial and commercial HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, and control maintenance works.
  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Drive to customers' sites all over Puerto Rico and travel to customers' sites in the USVI.
  • Conduct diagnostic and corrective repair of industrial and commercial HVAC equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and control works.
  • Evaluate and report on HVAC equipment and systems operation performance.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and personal protection items in excellent condition by using them correctly and providing proper maintenance according to the manufacturer.
  • Work with compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, expansion and discharge valves, temperature and humidity controls, fans, control panels, switches, fuses, filters, gauges, ducts, piping, tubing, and related HVAC components to ensure equipment operates in excellent condition.
  • Document every step of the procedures worked out in the execution of repairs, maintenance, and/or occasional retrofit installations.
  • Ensure compliance with EH&S, OSHA, and EPA rules and regulations applicable in the HVAC service business and adhere to company policies.

Requirements

  • Experience in HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems associated with HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose machine malfunctions and perform corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in the HVAC industry.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various customer sites.
