About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for identifying necessary vehicle service and performing the repair, service, and/or maintenance work. This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. The technician will examine customer vehicles, identify necessary repairs and maintenance, estimate costs, perform repairs, document services, and maintain an organized and safe work area. The technician is expected to follow dealership and manufacturer service guidelines, request necessary parts, and utilize available technologies to enhance customer experience. Additionally, the technician must maintain customer satisfaction index (CSI) at or above company standards and participate in required training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of automotive experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
  • Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Technical training or commensurate technical experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Certified/senior technician with respective manufacturer.
  • State inspection/emissions license required by State.
  • All required manufacturer fundamental training and/or NAPA training provided by HAG.
  • Meets and/or exceeds manufacturer requirements for ASE tests.
  • Completed manufacturer training to perform warranty repairs/recalls on most vehicles, PDI's, maintenance, and minor repairs.
  • Basic computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.

Responsibilities

  • Examine customer vehicles.

  • Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Document services performed.
  • Perform services efficiently and according to dealership guidelines.
  • Follow dealership and manufacturer service guidelines.
  • Request necessary parts.
  • Effectively utilize available technologies to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintain CSI at or above Company standards.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
  • Participate in required training.
  • Record all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
  • Follow Safeguards rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate the Company's Core Values.
  • Comply with Company policies and procedures.
  • Observe all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
