About The Position
IMCO Utility has an immediate opening for a Service Technician position in our Springfield, IL branch. This role is critical as we are a leading independent water and sewer supplier, and we are searching for a highly dependable service technician to support our operations in central and southern Illinois. The Service Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to our service delivery, including performing water main line stops utilizing Hydra-Stop equipment and executing water main taps using Romac tap-mate. Additionally, the technician will be involved in equipment upkeep, warehouse work, and occasional deliveries. The ideal candidate should possess a strong sense of dependability and have excellent mechanical skills. Problem-solving abilities are crucial, as the technician will encounter various challenges that require quick and effective solutions. Physical capability is also important, as the role involves lifting up to 50 lbs. Furthermore, candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen and hold a valid Class A CDL license. While any prior experience with water main operations is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. IMCO Utility, established in 1957, is a family-owned company that has built a solid reputation in the industry. Our customer base includes utility contractors, fire protection services, and municipalities across central and southern Illinois, as well as eastern Missouri.
