About the position

The Service Technician will be responsible for performing HVAC equipment preventive maintenance, including troubleshooting and diagnostics, equipment and systems operation log and reports, with minimum supervision, on customers' sites within Puerto Rico and the USVI. This role involves a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, ensuring that all work complies with relevant safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance of industrial and commercial HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical and control maintenance works associated with it.
  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Drive to customers' sites all over PR and travel to customers' sites in the USVI.
  • Diagnostic & Corrective Repair of industrial and commercial HVAC equipment, including electrical, mechanical and control works associated with it.
  • Evaluation and report of HVAC equipment and systems operation performance.
  • Keep tools, equipment and personal protection items in excellent conditions by using them correctly and providing proper maintenance according to the manufacturer.
  • Work with compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, expansion and discharge valves, temperature, humidity controls, fans, control panels, switches, fuses, filters, gauges, ducts, piping, tubing, and related HVAC components to ensure equipment operates in excellent conditions.
  • Document every step of the procedures worked out in the execution of repairs, maintenance and/or occasional retrofit installations.

Requirements

  • Experience in HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems related to HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment malfunctions.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations including EH&S, OSHA, and EPA rules.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites.
